Fred Burfield's Bombardier on Hollyburn Mountain - Photos

Shortly after the demise of the Hollyburn chairlift in June, 1965, Fred Burfield purchased a Bombardier snowmobile to carry people and supplies along the snow-covered road to First Lake. On occasion, "Fred's Bombardeer'" as it was called by Hollyburners, carried skiers to the Hollyburn plateau. After the Cypress Bowl Highway was opened in the mid-1970's, the "Bombardeer" was no longer needed. In October, 1982, Steve Richards and Ken Holowanky purchased the "Bombardeer'" from Fred, transported it to North Vancouver and began the restoration process. They renamed it the "Snow Bus".
